Menu Plan Monday - March 1, 2010

Last week I didn't get a menu plan done. It was a busy weekend, and I procrastinated. It was a difficult week because I was sick along with both of the kids. Now I know WHY I menu plan. It makes things so much easier. Being sick and trying to figure out what to eat was not fun. My hubby kept saying, "What's are we having for dinner tonight.....I thought you usually have it planned out!". I learned my lesson, so here we go -----

Monday - tortellini bake, salad

Tuesday - pork chops, potatoes and corn

Wednesday - soft tacos, rice and ?veggie

Thursday - homemade waffles and bacon

Friday - hubby is taking me for my birthday dinner at the Prospector Steak House - the kids will be eating at my parents

Saturday - breaded chicken breasts, noodles and salad

Sunday - chicken broccoli casserole, rice and salad

Wednesday - beef soft tacos, herbed rice, salad

Thursday - having Dad's birthday dinner at parent's

Friday - slow cooked ribs, potatoes, veggie?

Saturday - Daddy & kids' choice (I'm having a Partylite Party with a bunch of girlfriends, so I'll be making/eating appetizers for the party)

NO FISH FOR YOU!

Last night we decided to let Kayla try some yummy pickerel that her daddy and brother caught Saturday. She only had a few bites and within 5 minutes she started getting hives on her face.....it progressed to her eye being swollen shut. We cleaned off her highchair and washed her hands and face and thought we would just watch.....make sure she didn't get worse. All of a sudden she started scratching and pulling at her tongue. I packed her up and off to emergency we went.

We were brought in right away. The nurse said she was doing fine, there doesn't seem to be any swelling in her throat. They were going to give her medication by IV but I overhead the doctor and nurse taking about possibly giving it to her orally.....I piped up then and said ORALLY please! So, they gave her some Benadryl and steroids. We had to stay for a few hours so they can observe her.

My darling little girl was an angel. She played, flirted with the doctor and male nurses and was just content. I had packed a bag quickly for her (toys, diapers, bottle) but because I was so panicked, I forgot it at home. The nurse gave me a bottle of Enfamil but Kayla would not take it because she is now used to 1/2 formula and 1/2 milk. She was tired and hungry. At about 9:45 pm (2 hours past her bedtime) she had a meltdown. She started screaming. She just wanted to sleep.

Finally the doctor came in again at 10:30 and said Kayla was looking good, her vitals are great and because she wouldn't eat, we were able to go home. They normally observe for about 6 hours, but he would let us go.

This was the scariest thing ever! Thank God my little munchkin is okay!

So.....NO FISH FOR YOU!

The 28 Day Organizing Challenge

I am participating in the Org Junkie's 28 Day Organizing Challenge. Laura has some amazing prizes that she is offering as motivation!

While I was on maternity leave for this past year, my goal was to declutter my house. I'm happy
to say that I have done very well. I have donated bags and bags of stuff, sold things on Kijiji and just threw stuff out.

Most of the house was "organized enough" but we had our daughter's birthday last weekend and everything we didn't have a place for ende
d up in our spare bedroom in the basement. It is a disaster in there. This is what I have decided to tackle for the whole space category. I'm so embarrassed, but everyone else is sharing so here are some before pics:

For the Small Space Category I thought I would tackle my computer desk that it in the corner of our livingroom. It is another place that is a dumping ground. I don't even know what is jammed in the bottom drawer of the file cabinet! Here's a few before pics:

Well, I've got a month and I'm hoping that I can do it! Check back as I will be posting some pictures of my adventure into organizing/decluttering!

Happy 60th Birthday to my Mom!

Baba
with her cutie pie and honey bun. Isn't my mom beautiful? You would never guess she just turned 60!

I really wanted to throw her a big 60th party, but she didn't want anything to do with that. So we had a nice dinner at our house with just our family. My aunt, uncle, cousin and fiancee came over after for cake and coffee.

Menu Plan Monday - Feburary 1st

I still haven't gone a whole week actually following my menu to a T....things come up and I change it around a bit. Wednesday night we ended up eating at my parents, Friday night we had a banquet to go to that I forgot about, so I ordered pizza for the kids and my sister. Saturday night I went out for dinner with some girlfriends and hubby and the kids had breaded chicken breasts and homemade fries. Sunday was my mom's 60th bday and I had the family over for dinner. We didn't have steak, but I made a roast, roasted potatoes, asparagus and salad.

Let's see if we can follow this menu! :)

Monday - burgers on the George Forman, perogies

Tuesday - hot roast beef sandwiches (leftover from Sunday's roast), noodles, peas and carrots

Wednesday - pork chops, rice, cream corn and salad

Thursday - soup and grilled cheese sandwiches

Friday - chicken cheese shells, salad (we're going to eat these one day!)

Saturday - homemade pizza, salad
