TWO EXTRA DAYS

I went to see "dreamy" Dr. Siren on Tuesday and he says to me "I want to make a change." I want to do your c-section on Wednesday. My heart stops.....tomorrow????? But no, he means NEXT Wednesday. I had really mixed feelings about it because I was mentally prepared for Monday, we looked it up and she would have been a Capricorn, Chris booked his holidays and....

now I need to wait two extra days to meet my daughter....
two extra days of having swollen feet and hands....
two extra days of a sore back...
two extra days of Devin being an only child....

two extra days......

ONE WEEK

Random thoughts -

Wow, in one week I will be a mother of two.....we will be a family of 4....I'm going to have a daughter.

I'm nervous, excited and just want her to be healthy.

I wonder what she's going to look like? Will she be fair like Devin and Chris or will she be dark with dark hair like me??? Will she even have hair? LOL!

This will be the last time I will carry a child, feel a baby moving in my belly. I am going to miss this.

I won't miss not being able to bend, being out of breath and having back pain or sciatic pain.

I'm proud of myself for continuing with my exercise classes and going right until the end. Today was my last class.

Menu Plan Monday - January 12, 2009

I followed last week's menu, except for Saturday my husband made his chicken wraps. We haven't had them for so long...and ummmm they were yummy! He sautes chicken, red pepper, broccoli and mushrooms, adds cream of broccoli soup and then wraps it in whole wheat wraps with shredded cheese and bakes them in the oven. We had rice and salad with it.

Anyway, on to this week:

Monday - soft tacos, salad

Tuesday - breaded chicken breasts, fries and corn

Wednesday - fast fry pork chops, potatoes and broccoli

Thursday - dinner at mom's

Friday - pork roast (in slow cooker), hashbrown casserole, salad

Saturday - hot pork sandwiches, fries and gravy, veggie?

Sunday - Order Pizza

I won't be doing a menu plan for next week as I will be having our little girl on Monday and in the hosptial for a few days. I'm sure people will be bringing stuff over after....and if not, I've got some stuff in the freezer!

Trying So Hard to Get Ready for this Baby

I have been trying to organize my house, my life and my work to get ready for this baby. I knew she was coming....for 9 months now, but I am such a procrastinator. Some things that we (hubby and I) have actually been able to accomplish is:

- Setting up Devin's new room.
(This was our spare room AKA - my junk room. I moved all my junk from that room and now have spread it out throughout the house, including Devin's old room, which will be Kayla's room.)

- putting up the crib and making it with the new bedding set (Thanks Chris and Amanda!)

- I have managed to get some sleepers and clothes washed and ready for her.

- I have prepared some freezer meals ~ lasagnas, rotini beef bakes, and taco seasoned beef.

Here are some of the yummy meals I made!

I really really wanted to have time off before this baby, but I'm just not organized enough at work! I am working this weekend in hopes that I don't have to go in much next week.

Some goals for this weekend:

- pack hospital bag
- finish cleaning out and then setting up Kayla's room
- find out about renewing our passports before they expire next week
- buy mom's birthday gift

Wordless Wednesday

Okay, so it's not Wednesday, but I knew this was the pic I wanted to post, but I had to actually find time to sit down and download my pics.

I want to say that I'm going to get better at this, but baby Kayla will be here on the 19th and I'm really not too sure I'm going to have more time! LOL!

Tackle It Tuesday

Well, I'm trying my hardest to get ready for this baby coming and I have so much to do.

I though I would try "Tackle It Tuesday". I had mentally made my list last night and didn't get a chance to post it, so I will post it now, as well as what I actually was able to get done.

I invited my sister over for dinner and to help me move some "heavy" stuff since hubby was working tonight.

- get oil change after work
- go to A&P to get milk, bread, veggies, fruit
- cook a batch of taco seasoned beef to freeze
- put bedding on the crib (Amanda did for me)
- folded laundry from dryer
- call Sculptures and LaModa for prices for Mom's Mani/Pedi
- find Diego Dinosaur Rescue Wii Game for Devin & pick up
-
start packing hospital bag

Meal Plan Monday - January 5, 2009

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to meal plan. Some weeks I do well, others...not so well.
Let's see if I can change this in 2009. I'm thinking it will be very important as we are expecting our 2nd little one in two weeks!

Monday
- crock pot chicken, mashed potatoes, dumplings

Tuesday - blueberry pancakes, bacon

Wednesday - beef tortellini bake (with rose sauce), italian bread, salad

Thursday - Chris working, my exercise night --- dinner at Mom's

Friday - not too sure yet

Saturday - chicken & broccoli bake, rice and salad

Sunday - dinner out (after Devin's first mini-basketball class)
